What happens if a client wants to leave me?

You hand them a folder. Their site is ordinary files that run on any normal PHP hosting, so a handover takes an afternoon rather than a migration project.

You keep the system that built it. They keep the site it built. Both of those are true at once, which is why a clean exit is worth promising out loud in a proposal.
